People could use these accounts to make something like Warlock alts for summoning people and pretty much extended amounts of bank alts. I could imagine 7 day trials being offered. Old Blizz used to do that sort of thing with scratch codes. It has been brought up a number of times. And a number of times it has pointed out that it would be a bad idea and entirely unnecessary. Look, in order to play thge demo you had to purchase a blizcon ticket.

In order to be in beta you had to be subbed and lucky. In order to play the stress tests you had to have a sub. Each and every player that is currently subbed to modern wow will get access to classic when it releases for no additional expenditure.

If anything I could see them have trial accounts, but limited to a trial account only server, with nothing transferable to live. Its just something they do as a business because it is active advertisement. I have no idea if they will have them for Classic, but I feel like it is more likely they will rather than not. And the other edge of that sword is free advertising vehicle for goldselling.

They would further harm the integrity of classic. Its actually harder for gold sellers to take advantage of that these days.

Not only has Blizz broken certain capabilities that they would use like the dead body messages. There are likely other measures in place that I am not thinking of as well. Trial accounts brought people to the game without charging them, so they could see if they like the game or not. Blizz thought of these things years ago to be able to give trials without allowing gold selling on non paid accounts.
