When I try to close this window an error is reported in yet another small window. If I keep clicking cancel these windows will eventually close and the application I am trying to open does so, and seems to function normally. None of this seems to happen with non Windows related programmes. However, more recently I was unable to install a Skype update. Usually most software installations seem to install ok, but when I tried to install the latest version of Skype it tried to open the "Search Settings.
My laptop then just ignore all attempts to input to it, and just sat with the drive light on. It did eventually respond, but would not even attempt the Skype installation.
What can I do please to correct these problems, none of which existed prior to me trying to load Replay AV. I do not have the original Windows XP discs as it was pre-loaded. However, I look upon a re-install of XP as a last resort, I really do hope it won't come to that. Please can anybody help me.
